Tool guide
Choose the right tool for the task
DevDex collects small tools used when building and maintaining applications. Format an API response, inspect a token payload, convert a timestamp, or prepare a list without setting up a separate project. Each tool has its own page, so you can bookmark the task you use most often.
Text transformations and image editing run in the browser. Choose a formatter when you want to change presentation, an encoder when a transport format requires it, and a decoder when you need to inspect an existing value. These operations have different purposes: encoding a value does not keep it secret.
How to use it
- Choose a tool from the menu or the cards above.
- Start with a short sample, select the required options and inspect the result.
- Copy or download the output, then validate it in the application where it will be used.
Example and result
API response → JSON Formatter
Query parameter → URL Decoder
Unix time → Timestamp ConverterAn API response can be formatted as JSON, a value from it can be decoded with the URL tool, and its timestamp can be inspected separately. Keep each step small enough to check.
What to check
- A formatter is not an application validator. It cannot confirm a database schema, a token signature, or whether a cron job actually ran.
- Use fabricated examples for troubleshooting. Browser extensions, clipboard managers and shared devices are outside the tool’s processing boundary.
Common questions
Do I need to connect a database or create an account?
No database connection is needed for these tools. They transform the values you provide; they do not execute SQL or manage your application accounts.
